The OHS were a last minute decision after consulting with Colin. One of things that my next cycle will focus on is the OHS, so it was important that I establish a 1 rep max. The last time I did a 1 rep max was back in July.
My progression went 45-135-185-205-225-235-245-250-255-260-265-270f
All of the reps felt very solid. My 1-rep is probably closer to 285, the limiting factor being the jerk to get the weight into the overhead position. I have bad shoulders thank you football and poor weightlifting habits in my early days, so the press or jerk from behind is tough for me. Every so often I will feel my shoulder catch and I have to drop it. This happened 3 times including my last attempt at 270. I have no doubt that my 1 rep is around 285. I chose not to push it today because the extra 5-20lbs really doesn’t matter at this point, my biggest priority is to stay healthy, not get big PR’s. Just healthy ones :)

OPT WOD #2 “Snatch Complex”
Just in case you were wondering, I am taking it pretty easy this week. Most importantly because the next 3 weeks are going to be pretty intense as I am starting a 3 week cycle on Monday. Ending with the 3rd OPT Challenge on January 24th/25th and the CFV team Affiliate Challenge coupled in-between on January 16th. This is also a good chance for me to get fully rested and get my back recovered.
