Today was the CrossFit 101 seminar hosted by CrossFit Simi Valley. It was an awesome experience and I will definitely write about it soon! I was pretty excited to do this WOD today; the last time I did this I couldn’t even do the pull-ups as prescribed. Now I did it with chest-to-bar pull-ups! Not to mention I got to do an awesome hero wod like this in front of the founder of CrossFit, Coach Greg Glassmen!
I think I paced myself pretty well during the WOD. All of the OHS’s were done unbroken and were more of an afterthought than anything. The pull-ups were tough, I have never had to do 30 CTB’s, let alone 90! Knowing this I knew that I had to pace myself. I did not want to get to muscle failure on the pull-ups. I made sure to rest enough so I could always get at least 2-4 reps every time I jumped up on the bar, until the the last 3 which were fast singles. Did I mention that putting tape on bars is fucking stupid! The bars at CFSV are huge and have tape on them. I ripped the shit out of both of my hands! I haven’t ripped since August! Oh well it was worth it!
I got sub 6 on this next time I do it! NO CHEST TO BAR :)

Notes-
Diet was ok today. There was a lot going on today (early coaching, crossfit 101) including my Grandma’s 80th Birthday! We had dinner at a Japanese restaurant and I was pretty good except for the Tempura and beer. I managed to stay away from the rice and cake though!
